The Greek Real Estate Market in 2026: Trends and Outlook
The Greek real estate market continues to attract investment interest and strong demand during the first months of 2026. The strong and increasingly concentrated demand for smaller investment-oriented properties, particularly in urban and tourist areas, combined with the underutilized existing supply and subdued construction activity, has maintained upward pressure on property prices.

Planning Offices: How the transfer to the Hellenic Cadastre changes building permits and unauthorised construction controls.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the government’s final decision to remove the responsibility for issuing building permits from municipal Urban Planning Services during his speech at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair. At the same time, he announced that these services will be integrated into the Hellenic Cadastre as an official part of its structure.

The “Smart Bridges” project, focusing on the use of modern digital technologies for the monitoring of road and railway bridges, was presented on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The project is being implemented by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), under the supervision and in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with funding from the European Union’s NextGenerationEU initiative as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The project was presented at the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum.
